Each year, an eighth grade Ambassador who exemplifies the values of kindness, compassion, humility, and gratitude is selected from each of Massachusetts’ 351 cities and towns to participate in leadership training. Project 351 has trained over 4,000 Ambassadors since the program’s inception, and BETA is proud to support this local program and our future leaders. Tito and Austin delivered an informative session alongside the MVPC, FHWA, and Dewberry on 'Revolutionizing Traffic Safety and Efficiency: The Role of Technology and Data,' exploring the power of machine learning, GIS, and data-driven safety analysis. They showcased how our High-Injury Network (HIN) model and traffic impact studies utilize predictive and preventative strategies, transforming traffic management. With connected vehicle (CV) data providing groundbreaking insights, our presentation highlighted new efforts in safety and system operations. The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism is now accepting applications for the Destination Development Capital grant, which awards up to $6 million to selected communities whose projects will enhance tourism resources and infrastructure and will aid in climate resiliency. The grant is focused on capital improvements with a direct relationship to tourism, and other physical/structural items with a greater than five-year lifespan. BETA has officially entered Phase 1 of the Market Square Master Plan process! First paved in 1762 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, our team is honored to lead the effort of transforming this Portsmouth, NH district into a more publicly accessible area. Our multidisciplinary team of landscape architects and planners has begun developing a plan for a conceptual vision of Market Square, which will be heavily influenced by the feedback they received at the first Public Workshop meeting on April 24.
