Event Description: Chrysalis Center is hosting a Summer Solstice fundraising event to benefit Freshplace on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 5-7pm on their campus at 255 Homestead Avenue, Hartford. Celebrate the beginning of summer and toast the longest day of the year outside on their tree lined patio! An oasis in Hartford! Fox61’s Meteorologist, Matt Scott will serve as the emcee of this fun evening. Tickets are $40 per person and will include summer themed hors d'oeuvres, wine and beer, a silent auction, music and more. Attendees will also have an opportunity to tour Urban Roots, Chrysalis Center’s hydroponic grow center as well as the event’s beneficiary, Freshplace, an innovative fresh food pantry. Freshplace helps 350 individuals and their families annually with not only fresh food but also wrap- around case management services as they work towards achieving personal goals to become more independent and self-sufficient. Recent success stories include two women that completed the 12-18 month program, earned their CNA designations and almost immediately obtained full time jobs that provided benefits.
