Event Description: WEST HARTFORD – The new school year is beginning, and so are acting classes at Playhouse on Park this fall. For students in grades K-5, classes are nine weeks long. Each class meets once a week for an hour. Students are grouped by grade level to focus on age appropriate acting techniques, and each session ends with a final student showcase. Our Creative Kids program for children in grades K-1 focuses on acting with creative play. Exercises and games will focus on acting, story telling, puppetry, music, and movement. These lessons will be continued in Creative Kids Plus, which is for grades 1-2. Grades 3-4 can enroll in the Young Actors program, where students gain more comfort portraying a character onstage. Topics will include basic scene work, story telling, puppetry, music, and movement/dance. These lessons will be continued in Young Actors Plus for grades 4-5. Instructors will be announced in the coming weeks. Registration is required and now open! Class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
