Event Description: WEST HARTFORD – The new school year is beginning, and so are acting classes at Playhouse on Park this fall. The theatre is offering a year-long Actor Performance Training Program for students in grades 5-8. This program will be held on Tuesday, from 5:30-7pm. Each student will present an informal improvisation showcase in December, and will be featured as an actor in a final performance in May. This program will focus on developing a student’s acting technique in a comfortable and professional setting. The first part of the year will focus on in-depth improvisation work, while the second part will focus on audition techniques. This program will conclude with a devised performance piece where students will continue their acting training by creating, rehearsing, and performing an original script. Registration is required and now open! Class size is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. This class is for 5th graders who have already taken a Playhouse on Park acting class and have permission from the instructor, in addition to all 6th-8th grade students.
