Event Description: The Center for Latino Progress - CPRF is hosting its 2nd Anniversary Breakfast celebrating 37 years of raising the visibility and sustainability of Latinos while increasing economic opportunities for all. During the event, the Center's Board of Director recognizes champions raising the profile, promoting equity and seeking parity for Latinos in the State with the “Champion of Latino Progress Award”. This year the recognition will be given to the “English Language Acquisition and Educational Equity Work Group” report leaders as the champions of bilingual education reform: Brendan Sharkey, House Speaker, Juan Candelaria, Deputy Majority Leader and Kelvin Roldan Chief Communications Office Hartford Public Schools.
