Event Description: For two days, we shine a light on MetroHartford’s rich Asian culture with exciting and competitive dragon boat racing on the Connecticut River, while on land, we celebrate with authentic Asian entertainment, music, food, and activities. The Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival, ranked as one of the top ten dragon boat races in the US, features exciting dragon boat racing on the Connecticut River, and authentic Asian food, activities, and entertainment, such as acrobats, Japanese drumming, martial-arts demonstrations, cultural dances, music, and children’s activities. Dragon Boat teams include local corporate, youth, community, and non-profit organizations, with club paddlers traveling from as far away as Vermont, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey to race. Festival admission is free. Dragon boat teams must pre-register.
